They are designed to imitate and incorporate nature.  When lit, they cast wonderful shadows creating fantastic accent lighting.   I am a great believer in up-cycling, which involves sourcing components  from a wide range of places : beaches, woods and flea markets around the world -  and bringing them together.  All lamps are compliant with current EC regulations and are PAT tested.  Check out the gallery page for lamps that have sold.
